Through 4 years of Dental School:
Out of Iowa before the floods hit:
(this is the Coralville strip. The bridge is right in front of the storage shed we rented when we put our house up for sale. The yellow building is El Dorodo, where Cameron and I met for lunch all the time. It's just so weird - I just shopped at that Walgreens! It brings tears to my eyes to see my home like this. Even though we have moved it still feels like home. I am praying for all of you in Iowa. I wish I was there to sand bag and try to help. I just can't believe that I drove down this street just last week.)
(this is the road we took to get to Cameron's graduation - less than ten minutes from our house. This area is under 10 feet of water)
Through Saying Goodbye to Our Friends:
(I love you all and we will all miss you. Landon wants to marry Morgan so Connor will be his brother in law. Austin wants Collin back in his primary class. Thank you so much for being my friends. Thanks for watching my kids on Tuesday. I love my "Super Mom" Playgroup friends too. You girls got me through the tough years!!!)
To Colorado With the Help of My Dad:
(thank you, Dad for your help - You will never know how much your support means to me. I can always depend on you and Mom. Happy Father's Day, by the way; oh and thanks for putting up with all the stops we had to make along the way - you really helped me more than you know)
To the Top of Helen Hunt Falls:
(we took the day off from unpacking to go on a little hike. It turns out that the altitude really does make a difference. Talk about being out of breath. The kids loved it. We really like being here. I forgot my camera. It wouldn't matter anyway because I can't find the USB cord to download my pictures. Hopefully, I will find it soon so I can post some more pictures.)

Yay! You made it! Our internet is finally back up, so I will email you the pictures I took sometime this week. Things have been crazy here, as you can imagine. Last night we had dinner at Applebee's, and then walked down to where the Rt 6 flooding starts to take pictures. Our church is flooded, even after a 5 foot sandbag wall completely around it. Two of our pastors got to go inside with a CNN newscrew--here are the pictures:

I thought you and Cam might like to see them since you had been there once. Well, we're glad you're safe and sound! Have fun unpacking!

fun to see your pics! hope you made it to CO safely! I was going to send you links to pics of all the flooding but I see Chris beat me to it. You have certainly missed all the excitement! To boot on Saturday, shortly after I got home from Chicago, we had tornado sirens going off! I also had to take a 11+ hour detour to get home from Chicago because I80 was closed east of IC - What should have been a 3 1/2 hour drive! Had to drive from Davenport north to Dubuque, then across 20 to 35, then south to Des Moines, then go back EAST to Tiffin! I finally stopped and got a hotel after I realized I'd been in the car like 11 hours. Argh.
Miss you guys and the boys! take care and keep in touch,
- John
Glad you guys got there safely. We'll miss you!
Glad you got there okay. You made it out just in time. Good luck with everything.
Great to see you guys made it in one piece... I am sure it was an adventrue. You really did get out just in time! It is so sad to see everything under water. Good luck with getting settled. Joshua says to tell Landon "Hi".
Gad to hear you are safe. Is it clean?!
I'm so glad you made it! It's so hard to believe all of the flooding was just down the street isn't it? It makes me cry looking at the pictures of all of the places I have been not too long ago! Miss you guys!
Glad to hear you are there and safe. And maybe house is cleaned. We miss you Kendy.
